Introduction
If you're taking an inventory count with multiple participants, it's possible that someone could archive the inventory in progress.
If that happens, anyone actively counting in that inventory in the iOS app receives a notification the inventory has been archived. The UI in the app also displays the inventory is archived.
Your next steps depend on the reason why the inventory was archived. If it was accidental the inventory count can be restored on the WISK Web Portal without data loss.
iOS App Notification
If you're using the iOS app to take an inventory count and another user archives that inventory you receive the following message:
The message displays the name of the person that archived it, and when.
On the main page of the Inventory count it also displays that the inventory is archived.
If you see this label we do not recommend continuing your count until you resolve it with the person who archived it.
Next Steps
When an inventory is archived you should contact the person that archived it to find out the reason why.
Based on that and the progress of the inventory that was archived, you can take appropriate next steps.
Exiting the Inventory
If the inventory was archived intentionally and you haven't counted anything or only a few items, we recommend exiting the inventory. That way you can then join the other inventory if one has been started.
To exit the inventory tap the X button on the top left corner.
Note: When you exit an archived inventory you can only access it again in the app if it gets restored.
If someone started another inventory you'll see the new ongoing inventory and can join it by tapping "Continue Inventory"
For example, lets say you take a weekly inventory and you submitted a count on March 1st. Someone in your venue then starts another count on March 2nd by mistake and doesn't cancel it leaving it open all week.
When you go to take another count on March 8th you see an ongoing inventory count and join it.
Someone else from the venue sees the inventory was started on March 2nd and instead of changing the date cancels it and starts a new inventory count.
You haven't started counting anything and get the notification. You exit the inventory and can then join the other one to make sure you're all counting in the same inventory.
Restoring the Inventory
If the inventory was archived accidentally / by mistake you can restore it on the WISK Web Portal. You cannot restore an archived inventory via the iOS app.
Note: Before you restore the inventory, make sure that no one has started another inventory count. You can't have more than one ongoing inventory at a time. If a new inventory has started it has to be archived before you can restore the other one.
In this example we had an inventory that was nearly complete and it was archived by mistake.
To restore the inventory:
Go to Inventories > Inventories on the WISK Web Portal
Click the "Archived" radio button to view all archived inventories
Click the details button beside the archived inventory
Click "Actions" > "Restore"
The inventory is restored with all counts in tact. It is visible again in the app and can be accessed.
Note: If you never left the archived inventory in the app, the "Archived" label is removed when the inventory is restored.
