Introduction
In addition to the 5 preset roles of Admin, Admin (No Item Edit), Manager, Manager (No Item Edit) and Employee, you can create custom roles.
This gives you full control over what users can see and do on the WISK Web Portal and iOS app.
To learn more about the existing user roles and permissions, see:
Creating Custom Roles
You can create a custom role based on an existing role, or create it from scratch.
To create a custom role on the WISK Web Portal:
Hover the cursor over your username on the bottom left to see more options then click "Venue Settings"
Note: You'll only see this option if you're an Admin for the venue
Click “Roles”

Assigning Permissions to the Role
Click the checkbox beside a permission to assign it to the role. It saves every time you check a box. Select the permissions you want the role to have.
When the role is set up, you can switch the role of existing users to it, or invite new users with this role.

Place your cursor over the role and click the "Edit" button
Click "Rename" from the drop-down menu

Before you can archive the role, you must switch the role of all users currently assigned to it. Click the "Role" column to select a new role from the drop-down menu:
After assigning new roles to all impacted users, click the "Retry" button to archive the role.
Custom Role Examples
Basic Item Edit User
For creating or editing items, there are default roles that allow or block this action:
Allow - Admin, Manager
Do Not Allow - Admin (No Item Edit), Manager (No Item Edit), Employee
What if you need something that allows users to edit some properties of an item? For example, a user is taking inventory and wants to add the weight of a full unopened bottle to an item, or a new barcode.
By creating a custom role with the following permission settings:
"Edit item" permission disabled
"Edit item basic info" permission enabled
The user can't create new items, but they can edit the following properties of an item:
Barcodes
Case Sizes
Weights (both full and empty)
Add photos
Inventory Counter - No Item Costs and Previous List
The following permissions are enabled on all default roles, but can be disabled on custom roles to display less information when taking an inventory count:
Inventory > Show Previous Mode: The "List" view that shows the previous count does not display. This forces the user to scan all items during inventory. To learn more, see - Disabling List View
Inventory > Show Item Costs / Inventory Value: When counting items it doesn't show the $ value of each submission, and doesn't show the total $ value of the count overall. TO learn more, see - Hiding Inventory Values
