Introduction
All of the standard roles (Admin, Manager, Employee) by default are able to see the costs of items when taking inventory.
This can help spot any potential issues with item costs (If an individual unit is priced as a case, or vice versa) and fix them before the inventory is submitted.
In the example below, it shows 3 units of the rum is $1,200, which likely means an error with the price (the cost for a case is put as the cost per unit)
However, if you want to limit which users can see this information, you can create a custom role and disable the "Show item costs / inventory values" permission.
How to Hide Inventory Values
To hide inventory values for specific users:
Create a custom role. You can add a new role from scratch or make a copy of an existing role. To learn more see "Creating a Custom Role"
Make sure the "Show item costs / inventory values" box is unchecked for that role
Change the user's role to the new custom role. See "Changing a User's Role"
Those users won't be able to see the values of items while taking inventory counts, or the total value of the inventory. If they have access to view completed inventories on the web, they won't see any dollar values there either.
iOS View
In the iOS app, the user won't see the value of items counted in an area:
They also won't see the total value of the inventory when ready to submit:
Note: The total value at the bottom of the screen being hidden will be in an upcoming iOS release in August.
Web View
On the web, the user won't see any inventory values:
while taking the inventory, or
when viewing the completed inventory
