Introduction
The WISK platform supports many units of measurement.
When looking at reporting for your weight and volume based items, values are represented in units, but also in the item's unit of measurement (ml, oz, lb, kg)
To help standardize reporting, we've added the ability to set default units of measurement for both weight and volume. This way you can see all values in the same unit of measurement across all items.
You'll find new columns on the WISK Web Portal showing the selected defaults for weight and volume, but using them is optional.
Setting Default UM for Reporting
In all venues, the default reporting units are:
Weight - grams
Volume - millilitres
To change the default reporting units:
Place the cursor over your user name on the bottom left and click "Venue Settings"
Scroll down until you see the see the "Default UM Weight" and "Default UM Volume" drop-down menus
Click into either menu and select the desired reporting unit.
Note: If you're currently on a page displaying a column for the default UM, refresh or navigate to another page for the changes to appear
Weight
The following reporting units are available for weight:
Gram
Kilogram
Pound (lb)
Dry Ounce
Volume
The following reporting units are available for volume:
Milliliter
Liter
Fluid Ounce
Gallon
Quart
Pint
Where Default UM is Used
Columns for the default UM for both weight and volume appear on the following pages of the WISK Web Portal:
Sales Page
On the Sales (By Item) page, there are the following columns:
Sales (default volume UM)
Sales (default weight UM)
Items Page
When you check the real-time stock of an item by clicking the arrow button, it shows the sales in the default UM.
This is in either weight or volume depending on the item's unit of measurement.
Consumption Page
On the consumption page, there are the following columns:
Consumption (default volume UM)
Consumption (default weight UM)
Variance Page
On the variance page, there are the following columns:
Sales (default weight/volume UM)
Consumption (default weight/volume UM)
Variance (default weight/volume UM)
There is a system view called "By Reporting UM" that shows all of these values. You can also customize your display and create your own reporting views as needed. To learn more, see:
Additionally, if you click the details of an item, there is a column for sales that shows the default UM depending on whether the item has a weight or volume measurement.
