How to setup and connect your Socket Mobile S700 Series scanner with your iOS Device

Pair Device

Before you can use the Socket Mobile S700 Series scanner, you’ll need to follow the setup instructions to pair it with your iOS device:

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on your iOS device

  2. Turn on the Socket Mobile scanner. The blue light should be blinking fast to indicating it is unpaired

  3. Scan the barcode below to put the scanner into Application Mode. The scanner will beep 3 times

    Note: If you’re having trouble getting it to scan the image above, try scanning the barcode under “Application Mode for iOS Devices” in the S700 Get Started Guide

  4. Turn on Bluetooth on your iOS Device

  5. Tap Socket S700[xxxxxx] under “Other Devices”. After a few seconds, the status will change to “Connected” and the blue light on the scanner will stop flashing and turn solid blue

    Note: The characters in brackets are the last 6 characters of the Bluetooth Address

  6. Open the WISK app, and the scanner will beep, and a message displays to indicate it's connected and ready for use

    Note: If you don't see the message above, please close and reopen the app. If you still have issues, follow the steps in Pairing Reset below.

If taking inventory with the Socket Mobile scanner, there are a number of shortcuts to help save time while counting:

Pairing Reset

If you’re having trouble getting your iOS device to connect to the scanner, or wish to use the scanner with another device, you’ll need to reset the pairing.

You can reset the pairing either by:

  1. Scanning the pairing reset barcode

  2. Or hitting the pairing reset button sequence

Barcode

  1. Remove or forget the scanner from the Bluetooth list on the current device

  2. Scan the Pairing Reset barcode

    The pairing reset barcode that must be scanned.
  3. The scanner is now discoverable and you can follow the pairing instructions on the desired device

Button Sequence

  1. Turn on the scanner

  2. Press the trigger button then power button and hold both until you hear 3 beeps.

  3. The scanner will turn on, and be discoverable when powered on next.

  4. Follow the pairing instructions on the desired device

Factory Reset

If you have tried the Pairing Reset and are still having trouble connecting your scanner to your iOS device, perform a factory reset.

You can perform a factory reset by either:

  1. Scanning the factory reset barcode

  2. Or hitting the factory reset button sequence

After performing the factory reset, follow the pairing instructions on the desired device.

Advanced Troubleshooting

If you previously connected the Socket Mobile to your device and are having issues getting it to connect, please complete these steps in this exact order:

  1. Hold the power button on the Socket Mobile to turn it off

  2. On your iOS device, go to the Bluetooth Settings and forget the Socket S700

  3. Disable Bluetooth on your iOS device

  4. Turn on the Socket Mobile and scan the Factory Reset barcode. If this is successful the Socket Mobile will turn off. If the device did not turn off it did not reset

  5. Turn on the Socket Mobile and scan the Application Mode barcode

    The iOS Mode barcode that must be scanned by the Socket Mobile Scanner.
  6. Turn on Bluetooth on your iOS device, you should see Socket S700 in the list of devices

  7. Tap Socket S700 to connect

  8. When connected, open the WISK App and go into Inventory and tap into an area

  9. After a few seconds there should be a beep and a "Socket Mobile Connected" message displays
