How to delete/archive a family or category in your venue

If you’re no longer using a family or category and want to clean up your account, you can archive it.

You can delete/archive a family or category on the:

WISK Web Portal

From the Families and Categories page:

Category

Note: You can only archive a category if it isn't currently assigned to any of your items. Otherwise, you'll receive an error message showing the items that currently have the category.

  1. Hover your cursor over the category, and click the blue arrow that appears.

  2. Click “Archive” from the list of options

You can also delete /archive a category from the Details screen:

1. Click the “Details” button beside the category

2. Click the “Archive” button on the top right

When the category is archived, it is highlighted in pink:

The category has been archived, and is highlighted in pink.

Restoring a Category

If you need to restore a category, you can follow the steps above for any archived category. The “Archive” button is replaced with “Restore”.

Family

Note: You can only archive a family if it has no categories, or if all the categories within it have been archived as well.

1. Click the “Archive Family” button

2. The family is archived and is no longer visible under the default view.

Restoring a Family

To restore a family:

1. Click the “Predefined filters” drop-down list and select “Archived”

2. Click “Restore” beside the family you want to restore

Mobile App

From the Families and Categories screen:

Category

Note: You can only archive a category if it isn't currently assigned to any of your items.

1. Swipe the category to the left

An arrow indicates to swipe left on the "Example Category" category.

2. Tap “Delete”

3. Tap “Delete” on the confirmation pop-up.

Restoring a Category

If you need to restore the category, you can do so on the WISK Web Portal.

Family

Note: You can only archive a Family if it has no categories, or if all the categories within it have been archived as well.

1. Swipe the family to the left

An arrow indicates to swipe left on the "Example" family.

2. Tap “Delete”

3. Tap “Delete” on the confirmation pop-up

Restoring a Family

If you need to restore the deleted family, you can do so on the WISK Web Portal.
