Introduction

To know how much is left in a partial volume item when weighed on the supported Bluetooth Scale, the item must have a full or empty weight on file.

Most volume items in the WISK database should have at least a full weight attached to it, but if you add a brand new item you'll need to add this information.

If you need to add or remove a full or empty weight for an item, you can do this in the Mobile App or WISK Web Portal.

Mobile App

Selecting the Item

You can select the item to add/remove weights on the Items page, or during an inventory count.

Items Page

  1. Tap the “Inventories” tab on the bottom of the screen then "Items"

An arrow points to the "Inventories" tab along the bottom of the screen.

  2. Tap an item

An item is highlighted for emphasis.

  3. Tap the pencil icon on the top right to open the "Edit Item" screen

An arrow points to the pencil icon.

During Inventory

  1. Scan or search for the item

  2. With the item called up, tap either the pencil icon on the top right or the "Empty weights" or "Full weight" text

Adding a Weight

Note: If an item doesn't have at least one full weight on file, you're automatically prompted to add one during inventory when you tap the "Scale" tab. To learn more, see:

If there is already a full weight on file for the item, but you need to add another one:

  1. On the Edit Item screen, tap into either the Full Weight or Empty Weight field

The "Full Weights" and "Empty Weights" sections are highlighted.

  2. Tap the “+” button on the top right

An arrow points to the "+" button.

  3. Select from g, kg, or Lbs, and type the weight

The screen where you enter select the unit of measurement and enter the weight.

Note: On this screen you need to manually enter the weight. If your scale model doesn't have an LCD screen, weigh the item first on a screen in the app where you can see the value

  4. Tap “Done”. The weight is added. If you entered it in a unit other than grams, the value is converted to grams. Tap the back arrow.

An arrow points to the back arrow.

Note: If an item has more than one weight on file, it uses the average when weighing items during inventory.

  5. Tap “Save” to save your changes

An arrow points to the "Save" button on the screen.

Removing a Weight

  1. On the Edit Item screen, tap into either the Full Weight or Empty Weight field

  2. Swipe the weight you want to delete to the left

Adding Weight Errors

Volume Item - Full Weight Less than Liquid Weight

When adding a full weight to a volume item, the weight must exceed the weight of just the liquid.

Based on the density of the item category, the system is able to tell how much the liquid weights on its own.

If you try to enter a weight that is under the weight of the liquid, it will throw an error message.

In this example we have a 1.14L bottle of Vodka that is in a plastic bottle. If we try to add a weight (1000g) that is less than the weight of just the liquid (1037.4g), it shows this message:
