Introduction
In most cases, you shouldn't have to edit an inventory time. The inventory start and end times reflect when the count started and finished in your venue.
This is called the Inventory Duration.
You should only edit a time if it's wrong due to either:
Starting a new inventory count before you actually started counting
Finishing a count but submitting it later
The most important thing is that you don't want your inventory time to fall within a period that your venue has sales. You can't properly take inventory if items are being sold while counting.
If you need to adjust the start or end time of an inventory count, you can do this in the WISK Web Portal or the mobile app.
WISK Web Portal
On the side menu, click Inventories > Inventories
Click the details button beside the inventory you want to edit
Click the pencil icon that displays in the "Inventory duration" field
Note: If the current inventory duration spans longer than 48 hours a warning message displays on mouseover.
A calendar window opens and you can adjust the start or end date/time. In this example, we completed the inventory count but didn't submit it until a few days later. The inventory time spans over a few days where we've had sales in the venue. We need to adjust the end time to reflect when we actually finished the count.
Click a new date on the calendar, and the time to set a new time. Then click "OK"
Note: The inventory duration should typically span less than 24 hours. Ideally, you want to start and finish your inventory count on the same day, during a time with no sales. The inventory duration should never typically be more than 48 hours unless the venue was closed and no sales occurred. If you select a time that is longer than 48 hours see this message:
The inventory duration updates to your selection. This should reflect the time the counting actually occurred
Mobile App
