Introduction

When generating orders in WISK, the dollar value of the order is an estimate based on the cost of each item/item variation from the last received invoice.

If you have access to the latest pricing from your distributors (bid sheets, their online ordering portal, etc.) you can set the "Current distributor price" for each item.

When setting the price, you also set how long it is valid.

The "Current distributor price" is underlined for emphasis

When generating orders, the current distributor prices are used to calculate the dollar value of the order instead of the ones from the last received invoice.

This provides up-to-date pricing of your items and allows you to make informed purchasing decisions.

Note: This feature is currently only available on the WISK Web Portal

Activating Current Distributor Price

Important: At this time, only your Customer Success representative or a member of the Support team can toggle this feature on for you. Please reach out to your CS rep or message [email protected] to activate this in your account.

When activated, you'll see a "Current distributor price" field when viewing your items / item variations.

The "Current distributor price" field appears under the item

Setting a Current Distributor Price

To set a current distributor price:

  1. Click the pencil icon beside an item

An arrow points to the pencil icon beside the item

  2. Select an item variation and click the pencil icon beside the "Current distributor price" field

The item variation is highlighted and an arrow points to the "Current distributor price" field

  3. Enter the latest pricing you have from the distributor (the dollar value and the cost per unit) and click "Save"

The price has been entered and an arrow points to the "Save" button
  4. After setting the price you need to set the expiration date. Click the "Current distributor price expiration date" field and use the date picker tool

Note: Setting an expiration date is required because some distributors provide pricing that is only valid for a certain period. Once the price is expired, orders will use the price from the last received invoice until you update the current distributor cost.

  5. After setting the date and time, click "OK"

  6. The selected expiration date displays, click "OK" to finalize

The selected date is underlined and an arrow points to the "OK" button
  7. The current distributor price is set and the expiration date displays below

  8. If the item has multiple variations and you have the latest prices for that distributor, you can set those too

The other variation is selected and an arrow points to the current distributor price field

Changing / Removing the Distributor Price

If you need to change the distributor price or expiration date, click the pencil icon beside the "Current distributor price" field.

To remove the current distributor price, click the X icon.

Note: If a price is expired, it shows this in the interface

Ordering with the Current Distributor Price

When the current distributor price feature is activated, it uses that price when items are added to "Your Cart" on the Prepare Orders page.

In the example above, the cost from the last invoice is $25/unit, but since we added a current distributor price of $26/unit it uses that instead.

Comparing Distributor Prices

If you want to compare prices of an item's different variations before adding them to the cart, we recommend using the "Variation Cost Comparison" view on the Cart Builder.

This shows all variations of an item grouped together, and displays:

  • the price from the last invoice

  • the date of the last invoice

  • the current distributor price

Note: Placing your cursor over the tooltip in the "Current distributor price" field shows the expiration date

Expired Distributor Prices

If the current distributor price of an item variation is expired, it displays in red with message saying it's expired.

When the current distributor price is expired, it uses the price from the last received invoice instead. In the example above, the expired price is $29/unit but it using the $25/unit from the last received invoice.

When the current distributor price is expired, you can update it or remove it. If you update the distributor price while items are in Your Cart the value of the order updates.
