Getting Connected
To integrate GoTab with WISK, contact WISK Support ([email protected] or reach out in the chat). The Support team will reach out to GoTab to complete the integration and let you know when it's done.
Once the integration is complete, WISK imports your recent sales history (up to the last six months) and keeps your sales up to date from there.
Customizing modifiers
Modifiers are the choices and add-ons guests make on an item, such as a size, a type of side, or an extra topping. You decide whether WISK imports them, and how.
In your venue's POS settings, check Include modifiers. With it unchecked, WISK imports only the base menu item and no modifier detail. With it checked, these options appear:
Include modifiers: Imports modifiers that add to the price, such as a paid choice of fried egg on a sandwich. They are attached to the base POS item, so your sales are broken out by the modifier combination sold.
Include modifiers with price of 0: Imports modifiers that don't change the price but may change what goes into the item, such as choice of side or type of bread. Toggling this on creates a lot of POS Items to be mapped.
Import modifiers as separate POS Items: Imports each modifier as its own POS item instead of attaching it to the base item. The modifier is labelled "(Modifier)" on the POS Items page. This reduces the number of POS Items to map but it may not be feasible to use depending on how your menu is configured.
Choosing the right option
For most GoTab venues, start with Include modifiers. If your venue has a lot of customization options you can import modifiers with price of 0. Please note this will create a lot of additional POS Items to map since there will be a unique POS Item for every combination.
If an item has no price of its own and the modifier carries the cost, importing modifiers as separate POS items leaves the base item without a price. Venues like coffee shops and breweries often set up their menus this way. We wouldn't recommend importing modifiers as separate POS Items in that case. For example a modifier of 16oz loses all context if it's a separate POS Item and not attached to something (a latte, etc.).
Your sales totals stay the same whichever option you choose, and only the level of detail changes.
